THE METHODOLOGY.

The 5-Step Process Behind Every Model We Build With AI.

This isn't about learning finance, it's about cutting the hours you spend on structure and mechanics so you can spend them on judgment.

01. Gather The Source Files

Every model starts with a mess of filings, transcripts, and raw financials. This step turns that mess into a traceable source index before a single formula gets touched, so nothing goes into the model that can't be traced back to where it came from.

02. Turn Them Into Model Inputs

Hand over the organized sources and get back exactly what a model needs to run on: historical financials, segment KPIs, operating drivers, reported figures kept separate from adjusted ones, and anything missing flagged instead of quietly assumed.

03. Build The Model Structure

The step almost everyone skips. The workbook, the tabs, the links, the formulas, all of it gets built before a single forecast number enters. That order is the entire reason the model doesn't collapse the moment assumptions get layered in.

04. Add The Forecast Assumptions

Bull, base, bear, whatever you're modeling, it flows through revenue, margins, cash flow, and valuation in the open, sourced or clearly flagged as judgment, never buried three tabs deep where no one will find it.

05. Audit It In A Fresh Chat

A separate chat. Clean context. A second reviewer role built specifically to catch broken formulas, plugs, and unrealistic assumptions before the model reaches an MD, an IC, or a client.

06. Use The Right Surface

A fresh build from files, a precise edit to a live workbook, a fast workbook question, an independent QC pass, each one needs a different tool. This step is why you stop losing hours to the wrong one.

FAQ.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for investment bankers, private equity professionals, public-markets investors, equity research analysts, venture capital investors, growth equity investors, and other finance professionals who work with financial models.

You should already understand Excel and the basics of financial modeling. The course focuses on using AI to complete modeling work faster, not on teaching introductory finance.

Do I need coding or advanced AI experience?

No coding experience is required. We will show you how to set up the tools, structure your instructions, work with financial files, and review the results.

You do not need to be an AI expert, but you should be comfortable working in Excel.

Does the method work with Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot?

Yes. Our method works across all the major AI platforms, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot.

We may use specific tools during demonstrations, but the underlying process can be applied with whichever platform you or your firm prefers. Day 1 will also cover the available options for using AI with Excel and how to get set up.

What if my company only allows one AI platform?

That is fine. You do not need access to every platform.

The course teaches a repeatable modeling process that can be adapted to Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or another firm-approved AI environment. Some features may differ by platform, but the core workflow remains the same.

Will this still save me time if my existing model is already efficient?

Yes. The largest time savings may come from gathering inputs, updating a model after earnings, reclassifying financials, changing scenarios, documenting assumptions, and checking formulas across multiple tabs.

The goal is not to replace your modeling judgment. It is to reduce the time you spend on repetitive work.

Do I need Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or another data provider?

No. The core workflow works directly from filings, annual reports, earnings materials, transcripts, and other source documents.

You can incorporate your existing data providers if you have them, but the course does not depend on a particular provider, database, or connector.

When are the live sessions?

The course runs from August 24 through August 26. The bonus Q&A day for VIP ticket holders is August 27. Each live session is two hours:

New York: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM ET

London: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM BST
